Use Our Book Club Selection In Your Classroom!
Have you checked out our latest Book Club selection? All Four Stars by Tara Dairman is the tale of Gladys Gatsby, a sixth grade foodie who has to keep her passion for cooking hidden from her family, who live on a steady diet of greasy carryout food and unidentified microwaved globs. You won’t believe what Gladys accomplishes once she learns to trust her sense of humor and creativity to lead her out of the kitchen, into the neighbors’ yard, and all the way to a food lover’s opportunity-of-a-lifetime in New York City!
This TIP Book Club selection will run through the end of February and includes in-depth discussions, activities exploring the chemistry and physics of cooking, and simple try-at-home recipes. Contact the 4th–6th Grade Talent Search staff at email@example.com for an activity guide. The next selection will be announced in February.
Check Out the Latest Navigator: The Supercomputer in Your Head!

CRISIS Summer Program Application Opens February 8
Duke TIP’s summer program for fifth and sixth graders, CRISIS, uses problem-based learning to build leadership and teamwork skills by asking students to assume the role of a professional on a research team to solve a community crisis. Participants explore a field such as engineering, law, or journalism while participating in leadership and development activities designed to help them discover more about who they are and what they want to be.
